WHO IS MAROLYN MIDDLETON
In 1989 Marolyn Middleton, the current owner of Middleton Clothiers, saw a gap in the retail clothing market. Ladies who were difficult to fit ( i.e. short, tall, heavyset, or oddly proportioned) could not find clothing that fit, was trendy, and reasonably priced. As a result, Marolyn began to custom design, construct, and market her own line on a small scale in her local area. She offered home showings and personal fitting. After a few years she had developed a clientele of over 400 and hired two others to assist her in construction.Her personal line of knits similar to the "units" knits grew to a point where she was forced in 1997 to seek a retail location. By this time she was also designing and producing other fabrications and styles.
After establishing her retail location, Marolyn was forced by health problems developed from the extensive sewing to curtail her designs and then began to concentrate on purchasing clothing for retail sale, yet still give the customer a personal fit.
After 30 years as a family and consumer science teacher who specialized in the clothing field and teaching hundreds of girls to sew, she saw that her background had perfectly prepared her for two things. 1. working with people and 2. fitting clothing on even the most difficult figure types.
Now after eleven years, Middleton Clothiers is a full scale ladies boutique specializing in the most up to date designs from the best resources in the market, custom fitted to your figure at a reasonable price. Middleton's caters to women age 16-80 with styles that are fashion forward, yet conservative enough to anywhere. Marketing in Atlanta, New York, and Las Vegas, Marolyn seeks those companies who do not market in the malls of America. Her customers want to be individuals, not one of many. In 2000, Middleton's entered the prom and special occasion market with resounding success, again based on Marolyn's knowledge of what teenagers wants and what their parents expect. Her fitting expertise and knowledge of what looks good on the body helps her assist girls in finding just the right dress for prom and special occasions at a price far below the competition. Her motto tells her story- A boutique for the woman who wants her clothes to fit!
